Amy and Jen's 10 Most Favorite Things Ever

  1. Our families. 4 adults, 5 kids, 1 dog, and 2 cats. Nothing is more important, or more rewarding. No, not even your logo. Though we do love a good logo…
  2. Learning. On top of being highly useful, learning is just cool. Books, classes, web searches, conversations, whatever. If you know something we don’t, we wanna know it.
  3. Traveling. Pictured Rocks or Paris, the Badlands or Disneyland, redwood forests, a coral atoll, or a KOA campground, experiencing life outside the comforts of your own neighborhood is always invigorating and a good way to gain perspective.
  4. French dips from Corey’s Lounge on South Cedar. Preferably in the Elvis room. Those sandwiches have seen some of our best ideas take shape. Along with our bellies when we were pregnant.
  5. Clarendon. It’s fun without being overt. It’s funky without being cheesy. It’s classic, versatile and just plain graphic. Ahhh, Clarendon, your ball terminals are so inviting.
  6. Logo projects. Especially when they’re part of a larger branding project. No project is more fun or more rewarding than a logo. The possibilities are endless, and you get to define someone’s image. It’s just cool.
  7. Tarantino movies. The guy just knows how to make a striking and engaging picture. Visually, his work is lush and saturated. Topically, he’s sadistic but funny, and nerdy-smart yet ultra-cool. Top it all off with wicked soundtracks, and you’ve got undeniable genius.
  8. NPR. We are serious NPR nerds here. We know all the shows, we know all the hosts, we know all the theme songs. It’s an office-wide love affair/epidemic. Jen’s even friends with Rick Pluta, which, in our minds, is as impressive as hanging out with Quentin Tarantino (see above).
  9. Color. Use it. I mean, obviously, we’re redheads with a capital “R.” Unless you’re using white to draw attention to something awesome (a great photo, a painting, pretty type), throw some color in there. It generally makes everything better. Why let a wall go white?
  10. Wine Fridays. Creative thinking can’t happen on demand. Ideas need time to percolate and bubble to the surface. And creative brains need time to decompress so the stuck ideas can break free. That’s why we allow ourselves time to relax once in awhile. It’s for the good of our clients, we swear.
Jen and Amy love their families, travel, fonts, and other things
