Designing within a brand can be a challenging task. Especially if it's a brand that you didn't design yourself.
This week, we came across this mark on HOW Magazine's Blog. The logo is simple and boiled down, which allows it to function in a number of ways. The ampersand (that is also the apple!) give's the logo something clever to say when it's presented minimally. But when presented with serious embellishments (as in the tree illustration), it looks awesome too.
And the lesson...Just because a brand mark is simple, doesn't necessarily mean it needs a simple excecution. Expanding a brand is infinite!
